Mathematical Problems of Jute Spreader Machine

A jute spreader machine is used to comb and open the pieced out of long reeds of jute. It is done by combing action on the jute. To convert them into an even and continuous sliver that receives an even application of batching emulsion. To prepare a ribbon-like sliver jute spreader machine is used. In this article, we will discuss the mathematical problems of the jute spreader machine.

Mathematical Problems of Jute Spreader Machine

Problem-1:
A jute spreader machine is running with the following data:

Dollop wt =1000 lbs,
Clock gearing const =10,
Clock charge pinion = 20T.

Draft const = 350,
Emulsification applied =25%,

Feed wt in lbs/1000yds?
Delivery wt/100yds?

Solution:

Clock length = Clock gearing const × clock change pinion
=10×20=200Yds.

Feed mt count /wt of feed jute in lbs/100Yds = 1000÷200×100
=500 lbs/100Yds.

…………..Draft const……350
Draft = ………………… = …….. =10
…………………DCP…………35

Emulsion applied = (25÷100)×500
= 125 lbs /100yds.

After application of emulsion wt of total feed material = (500+125)
= 625 lbs/100yds

……………………………………..Feed material wt……..625
Delivered sliver weight = ………………..………… = ………..
………………………………………………..Draft…………….100
= 6.25lb/1000 Yds.(ANS)

Problem -2:
Find the production in lbs/hr of S. M/C from the following data:

Delivered speed = 60yds/min.

Draft =12,
Efficiency = 80%,
Emulsion applied = 20%,

Wt of feed material = 6lb/yds.

Solution:

Production in lbs/ hour = (6÷12) × 60 × 60 × (100+20) ÷ 100 × 0.8
= 1728 (ANS).

Problem-3:
Find out the production of spreader M/C from the following data:

Dollop wt = 36lbs,
Clock length = 6yds,
Delivery speed = 60yds/min,.

M/C draft = 12 ,
Emulsion applied =12%

Solution:

…………………………………………………………………….Delivery speed × dollop wt
Production of spreader machine in lbs/ hour = ………………………………………..
…………………………………………………………………………Draft × clock length
= 60 × 60 × 36 ÷ (12×6) × (100+12) ÷ 100
= 2016Yds/hr. (ANS).
